Q: How do I request a refund for my transaction? 

• All transactions made on HUNPOs are final, per our terms of service. However, refunds can be issued at our discretion at the request of either the donor or the Campaign Admin. We will not be able to refund your transaction if its funds have already been withdrawn from HUNPOs by the Charity. In this situation, all requests for refunds should be made directly to the charity. 

Q: Are donations secure  

• HUNPOs utilizes the world’s very best payment encryption technology and security. Payments are processed securely through our PCI compliant payments partner Stripe, which is where the funds are securely held until they are ready to be withdrawn via bank transfer. HUNPOs does not have access to donor credit card information, and we take every measure to protect users' personal information on our site. 

Q: How does HUNPOs protect its users?

Q: What does the verification HIPPO HEAD badge mean? 

• Verified accounts on HUNPOs have been vetted and reviewed by the Vetting and Verification Team to ensure their legitimacy as a federally registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, charitable organization and that they meet criteria as set forth by the platform to be a Historically Underfunded Nonprofit Organization™  

Q: Is my donation tax-deductible? 

• Organizations who hold 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, charitable organization status with the IRS and can accept tax-deductible donations. HUNPOs badging is only intended to verify an organization's legitimacy as a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, charitable organization. HUNPOs does not guarantee that donations made to verified nonprofits are eligible for a tax deduction. We strongly recommend that you consult an accountant about your own personal eligibility for taking any tax deductions. 

Q: Will donors received a receipt after my transaction is processed? 

• Yes. HUNPOs automatically emails receipts to donors. Verified 501(c)(3) nonprofits will automatically have their EIN included on donation receipts. 

Q: What payment methods does HUNPOs accept? 

• HUNPOs has partnered with Stripe and automatically processes payments via all major credit and debit cards.   

Q: Is the platform FREE to Nonprofit Organization once they’re approved? 

• Yes. HUNPOs platform is free to those nonprofits approved through the application and verification process. However, there is a small 5% platform fee on transactions plus the payment processor includes a standard processing fee of 2.9% + 30¢ for all payments. This fee is charged by our payment processor and allows your funds to be securely deposited into your account.  

Q: What’s a Difficult Development Area? 

• The term “difficult development areas” means any area designated by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development as an area which has high construction, land, and utility costs relative to area median gross income.  

Q: How does a Charity become identified as a Historically Underfunded Nonprofit           Organization™   

• Charitable Nonprofit Organizations can go to the website www.hunpos.com and apply to be badged as Historically Underfunded.
